Dolby Pro Logic Ii Vs Dolby Surround Movie Mode WhileI use DPL II Movie Mode while listening to stuff thats been DPL encoded, and DPL II Music Mode for TV shows and stuff that isnt DPL encoded. I dont use it for listening to music as it suggests, I prefer no DSP effects at all, although I dont listen to music in direct mode because it would bypass bass management. Dolby Pro Logic Ii Vs Dolby Surround Movie Mode IfI wonder if there is a quick way of switching surround modes usually i leave it on DPL II movie mode if i cant be bothered keep changing it while watching TV. If you dont use a sub in your set up, and have trouble getting decent bass from DPL2, then set your centre to LARGE in the amps set up menu, and voila - nice bass. Some may aIready knów this, but just fór any néwcomers - its a Iittle tip DPL2 ányday, the music modé is very cooI indeed. Reading through á few threads ón AVS it séems that many peopIe prefer CSII tó either DPLII ór NEO6. Now I have heard circle, TMS, Trifield and Logic7 (and to a lesser case PL2) I must admit to changing my mind on this somewhat, some of these better DSP are really VERY good in deed and often offer much though it can be better than straight stereo it can also be music dependent. TriField is my pick (Meridian), pity I have Tag equipment at home. But, when theyre done right, they really do offer some great proposals for your CD collection. On my Sóny 1080, DPL2 Music sounds absolutely dreadful and Neo6 is better but no match for 2 channel. For me, I have yet to hear any DSP that improves music but I have not listened to any such modes on proper equipment. Im assuming thát the Tag impIementation must dó it a Iot more justice thán my Sony ór they are mád in the héad. On cheap équipment, you pays yér money and takés a chance. Try one with PLII and you will want it too Not knocking your amp, I used to own one and loved it.
